Fielding a ball is the action of collecting the ball by fielders when the ball get struck by the batsman in such a way that the batsman scores the least amount of runs or to get the batsman out by catching the ball.

In One day Internationals and T-20 matches’ bola tangkas gratis is a very relevant cricket term. The batsman receives a free hit when the bowler delivered a full-toss ball (above the waist). Also when the bowler bowls a no-ball (overstepped with either foot) and again in the immediate next ball the batsman cannot be ruled out in any other dismissal modes except those which are applicable for a no-ball (can be named as handled the ball, obstructing the field, hit the ball twice, run out).

The batsman can play a more powerful shot without having any fear of getting out by the most commonly used methods named as caught or leg before wicket when he is afforded by the opportunity of a free hit ball. In case of a free hit ball the major fault is on the fielding side and its advantage goes to the team on the batting side. The team on the fielding side has to be very cautious in order to avoid a free hit ball. The batsman can afford to have a single run as the ball is considered a dead ball when the ball even hit the stumps.

The laws of cricket have a rule that when the bowler delivers the ball without having his front foot either on the ground or rose behind the popping crease or his back foot doesn’t touch the return crease then this delivery of ball by the bowler is ruled as a no ball.

When the same batsman who received the original no ball is there on the strike then the fielding team is not allowed to change the field on the free hit ball. If the wicketkeeper is standing up at the stumps then for the safety reasons he is allowed to move back to a more traditional position.

The umpire  will signal that the next ball to be a free hit ball at the bowler’s end by raising one hand and start making circular movements in the air. If the original free hit ball is bowled as wide or a no-ball then it will be carried over to the next ball and the umpire is required to give again a signal of free hit ball.
